Product Description

SPI-HC Series High current surface mount power inductor,Electronic Component SMD Unshielded Power Chip Inductor

The SPI-HC series high-current unshielded SMD power inductor is designed for low-voltage high-current DC-DC converters and microprocessor power supply applications. Rated current is up to 51.7A. The product features a low-profile package and ultra-low DCR, effectively reducing power loss and improving system efficiency. The flat top design is suitable for automated pick-and-place assembly. The unshielded open structure offers cost advantage as its core competitiveness. Open-circuit inductance is tested at 100KHz / 250Vrms. Rated current is defined as the RMS current value that causes a temperature rise of approximately 40°C at 85°C ambient temperature. It is widely used in high-current low-voltage DC-DC converters, 3.3V microprocessor power supplies, and CPU power management.

FAQ

Q: What are the advantages of ultra-low DCR?

A: Ultra-low DCR means very little power loss (I²R loss) when high current passes through the winding. This helps improve overall DC-DC converter efficiency and reduce temperature rise. It is especially suitable for low-voltage high-current applications (such as 3.3V microprocessor power supplies).

Q: What considerations are there for unshielded inductors in high-current applications?

A: Unshielded inductors use an open magnetic circuit structure with higher leakage flux. In high-current applications, pay attention to PCB layout to avoid magnetic flux coupling to sensitive signal lines or nearby components. For applications with strict EMI requirements, we recommend using appropriate shielding measures or choosing shielded inductors.
